just another psychology blog?

A new series of online TV episodes have been launched by a site called Curious and one of them caught my eye: What is: Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum? On the site you can see a ‘taster’ video which seems to be relevant to Sperry.
The corpus callosum — the largest white-matter structure in the brain — connects the left and right hemispheres. Agenesis of the corpus callosum (AgCC) is a condition in which the structure is partly or completely missing, severely limiting integration of left-brain and right-brain function.
Symptoms of AgCC may range from mild to severe. Children may demonstrate normal intelligence with some compromise in specific skills, or they may be hydrocephalic, have substantial retardation, and suffer seizures and spastic episodes. AgCC is also associated with physical malformations, including midline facial defects. [quote]
There’s only previews on the site at the moment but we are promised that the full episodes will be available in January 2008. But don’t worry - I’ll keep my eye out for you and let you know here when it’s there.
